Flipping Websites on Flippa

Flippa is considered the number one source for flipping websites. It has allowed a number of graphic designers and webmasters to buy and sell websites for years. However, making money with Flippa is not as cut and dried as many other online money making options. There is a measure of risk involved. The objective is to buy low and sell high, but that isn't always accomplished.

The Basics

In order for you to be successful at flipping websites, you need to understand HTML and CSS languages to make modifications to the site, unless it is a static site hosted by Site Build It that was built with Block Builder or another site host where very little or even no CSS and HTML knowledge is needed. You also need to know how to create an instant web presence through design and other tactics. If you do possess these skills, as long as you are being truthful about the site, offering a fair price, and creating sites that are well rounded, you can make substantial amounts of money by flipping websites.

Buying and Selling

Buying and selling websites on Flippa is somewhat different than flipping them. You are not required to create the sites. Instead, you have to know how to spot a bargain. You need to be able to recognize potential. Most individuals who make money through buying and reselling websites on Flippa go to less prominent website selling pages and find nuggets that are being sold at prices lower than they are worth. Then, they either continue to build the site to make more money, or they turn around and sell it for what they believe it is worth.

Building and Establishing Websites

The third method of making money with Flippa involves building and establishing websites. This method tends to be more painstaking and time-consuming; however, it can also provide you with the best money making potential, especially if you are good at it.

Unless they are planning to buy to flip again, most businesses and individuals that purchase websites from Flippa do so because they are incapable of doing it themselves. They do not have the time or they lack the knowledge required to create a website. They may be unaware of how to create a prominent web presence.

Much like flipping a house, many individuals choose to make money by flipping websites. They create websites that have a web presence and tight graphics for companies and individuals that are unable to create one on their own.

Many site builders carry a site for months, maybe even years. They generate followers and traffic, and they set up sites that use a number of different purchasing options. AdWords and other marketing tactics are then utilized to make money while they are developing the site. When they feel that the site is reaching a potential and is worth purchasing, they then place it on Flippa. If you plan to build and establish websites, one thing to be careful of is getting too attached to the websites you build. By becoming too attached, you are likely to overcharge for your site. By overcharging, you limit your earning potential when flipping websites.

Many factors go into deciding how much your website is worth. Educating yourself about these different aspects can help you avoid overpricing. Once you familiarize yourself with these various money making methods, you can begin generating a significant profit by flipping websites on Flippa.

If You Don't Know CSS and HTML

If you know very little about the technological aspects of site building, there are ways to get around that and be a successful webmaster. You can build sites through Site Build It or buy an established one for the purpose of making a flip. Or you can start out by building blogs through Blogger or WordPress.

Neither of those routes require much technological knowledge, but there will be a learning curve with both. I have used WordPress, Blogger and Site Build It. Blogger was the easiest. If you know the basics of the Internet, you can have your first post up in minutes. It will take more time to make your blog as functional as it should be.

WordPress is a little harder to learn, and takes even more time to create a truly functional blog.

In took me ten days to get though the learning curve on my first Site Build It website. But it was certainly worth it. I love Site Build It, so much so that I now have five sites hosted there. If you are looking for an established Site Build It site but know every little about CSS or HTML, make sure that you are buying a site built with "Block Builder."
