Freelance Writing Paid My Bills and Allowed Me to Work from Home

I started using Elance in 2001 and by 2003 I had enough regular clients that I was able to quit my full time management job and work from home. It was a blessing to me at the time because there was a need to homeschool my boys.

I still get some projects from the freelance writing board, but the industry has gotten very competitive with the prices being driven down by writers from different countries and writers who use article spinners instead of writing original content.

It is somewhat difficult to find clients that are willing to pay a premium price for original writing when they can get spun articles at such a low price, but there are still some out there. Now, I get most of my projects through networking and the use of my website that I built using Site Build It.
