I Sold Snacks at the Ball Games

by James
(Jacksonville, Florida)

During the summer I would ride my bike down to the baseball field and watch kids play baseball. I got really bothered because they didn't have a snack bar, so I decided to tow a wagon with cooler and candy to try and sell at the games. I knew it would be a long shot and I probably wouldn't make much money, if I made any at all. I stayed 3 hours and no one came for candy or drinks. But as the game was ending I heard a group of little kids come charging my way. The team of thirty all wanted something from my wagon. The coach paid me and I then realized that I wouldn't make money until the games were over.

So I continued to go down to the baseball games for the rest of the week. I was having so much fun watching baseball and selling things. I made a total of $121.75 in just 5 days. I then realized I could make this a part time job because I wasn't old enough to have a real job. I went to the rest of the 30 games and made money everyday.

By the end of the last game, I had made a total of $500. The kids and parents loved what I was doing. I loved the money I was making too, and I felt felt like I was changing the world.
