WordPress, My Old Friend

I began using WordPress for a very pathetic reason: I thought Blogger was a dumb name. I know, it's a great reason! I kept with WordPress and discovered that I really liked its interface and feel. Despite those petty things, there is another real benefit. Using a free blog at WordPress.com lets you get used to the uniqueness of WP while gaining a reader base and SEO rankings. You can even have your own domain point to your WordPress.com hosted blog for a small fee. So when you want to transition to your own hosting (so you can have ads) it's almost seamless. Meaning you can get your independently hosted site up, then shut down the WordPress.com hosted one. Just like that! Oh, and I'm not sure how much it really means, but most businesses that have blogs seem to use WP. Not sure if it means anything, but they sure do look nice too!
As for making money from blogs, don't be hasty. Some blogs look so tacky and smell like a scam with all the ads, pop ups, and flashing advertisements. Start with content so you will gain readers. Reoccurring readers will be golden. Not to mention with more content comes more posts and pages that can be found on search engines! Get started now. Get content up and bring in those page hits and readers. Every day you wait, you are losing potential.
